DESCRIPTION:

The Dental Customer Care Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Dental Customer Care Assistants, attending Dental Advisory Group and Dental Association Meetings, providing in-person and remote provider training sessions and promoting the Dental Community Outreach Program. In addition to supervising they are responsible for managing the department’s workflow and ensuring that contractual requirements are being met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Increase access to dental care for EqualityCare recipients by strengthening and expanding the existing provider population.
2.Serve as direct contact and resource for dental providers’ policy, payment, benefit, claims and eligibility questions.
3.Contact dental providers to proactively resolve issues and strengthen relationships (includes yearly onsite visits).
4.Serve as a liaison between dental providers and the EqualityCare Office of Dental Services.
5.Update the Office of Dental Services and ACS department manager regularly on major issues, both internal and external, and provide recommended solutions.
6.Represent the Office of Dental Services and ACS at Dental Advisory Group and Dental Association meetings.
7.Assist in resolving complaints and issues for providers, the Office of Dental Services, and EqualityCare recipients.
8.Manage/coach three Customer Care Assistants in response to complex inquiries, difficult situations and provider or Office of Dental Services issues.
9.Monitor distribution of workload for adequate coverage, ensuring departmental goals are achieved and maintained. Recommend to manager how to address deficiencies.
10.Actively participates in hiring, developing, and reviewing staff and their performance.
11.Ensure all new and existing staff receives adequate training.
12.Develop complete understanding of provider billing and policy manuals.
13.Develop and continually improve provider presentations.
14.Maintain and submit all required reports.
15.Perform miscellaneous tasks including, but not limited to, assisting with projects as assigned by the Office of Dental Services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Three years dental office administration and/or clinical dental assisting/hygiene experience.
2.Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes and dental nomenclature.
3.Three to five years supervisory experience.
4.Self motivated and self directed.
5.Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
6.Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments, effectively managing time and priorities.
7.Ability to make effective business recommendations and develop methods and procedures to improve department’s effectiveness and efficiency.
8.Ability to manage conflict resolution.
9.Demonstrated coaching and training skills.
10.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
11.Ability to make decisions and demonstrate sound judgment under pressure.
12.Strong analytical, comprehension, and problem solving skills.
13.Experience using a personal computer, email and the Internet.
14.Ability to create reports, letters, bulletins, presentations, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
15.Operation of a motor vehicle is necessary as travel is a component of the job. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
