Plastipak Packaging as Injection Technician Job Description

Responsible for and has the authority for setting up and operating a group of machines and making necessary adjustments or minor mechanical repairs to the machines and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY:

1. Responsibility and authority as outlined in the Quality Manual, Operational Procedures and all Instruction manuals.
2. Adhere to specific measures as defined by the department and/or plant.
3. Functions within an ISO/Team environment effectively.
4. Tends to a group of blow molding or injection machines that produces plastic containers.
5. Makes frequent quality checks on product by observing it for deviation in weight, sidewall thickness, flash, poor distribution, concavity, convexity or crooked sections, short shots and making adjustment to correct malfunctions and eliminate defects.
6. Makes periodic checks of heat controls, cooling water temperatures, pressures and functioning of extruder and hydraulic pumping units.
7. Performs preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned.
8. Un-jams conveyor systems.
9. Observes all local and Company safety policies and procedures as well as housekeeping requirements.
10. Maintains various daily production and Team reports.
11. Performs screen changes as required.
12. Miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
